Minister’s Message for January 2025

End of Year and New Year's Greeting to all! December, of course, was a very busy month, but it was a good busy.

Our Advent Sundays helped us to prepare for Christmas through our donations. And the White Gifts from Coldwater went to "Lighthouse Christian Ministries." in Orillia. Those from Wesley United, Eady were delivered to Mariposa Hospice House in Orillia and the Huronia Hospice in Midland.

"Love Came Down at Christmas" was the theme of the Christmas Cantata at Coldwater UC on Saturday, December 22 to the enjoyment of another full house.

The combined Christmas Eve Service was held at Wesley United Church, Eady, again to a packed house. And there was another combined service on December 29th also at Wesley in Eady.

I also made some pastoral calls both in homes and one in the Midland Hospital. We had two Celebrations of Life; one in the form of a baptism and another in the form of a farewell with the passing of life.

On December 15th we had an unexpected guest speaker in the person of John the Baptist. He had a very effective message but was badly in need of a haircut.

Too, we continue to meet for Sacred Space on Wednesdays, from 11am to Noon. We alternate between Coldwater and Eady.

I believe this has been a meaningful time as we both remember and ponder those events and periods of our life that have shaped and deepened our own faith journey.

And we now look forward to a new calendar year together. We face new adventures and challenges knowing that the risen and rising Christ walks with us.
