Minister's Message for August 2024

Dear All

July, of course, was filled with summer weather and activities. I made a

few pastoral calls to people's homes as requested.  I have been making house calls for over fifty years and I always find them meaningful.

During July, of course, we had our combined services at Eady. We greatly enjoyed welcoming both regulars and visitors and I felt it was always a lively time together.

On Sunday, July 14th, I invited a guest speaker to give his version of his part in a biblical story.

King Herod graciously accepted my invitation to address our summer congregation. He actually spoke about dancing. If you missed it I can explain it to you later.

I also conducted a surprise wedding for a couple at a cottage in Torrance.  It was not, of course, a surprise for the couple, but it certainly was for their  combined families.

I also had the first visit by someone to my office to share with me about a meaningful funeral they had attended.

I continue to offer God in the Woods once a month, usually on the last Sunday. It is held 3-4pm at the Barrie Arboretum. I know this is about 35 minutes away but, if you feel inclined to join us in the worship in nature, you are welcome.

We are now looking forward to our combined services in August at Coldwater United Church. Services will be at 9am.

And, as always, if you would like to speak with me either in person, or by calling or clicking, you are always welcome to do so.
